Agricultural practices and the rising trend in tourism were among the issues highlighted by Appointed Members in the Committee of Supply Debate for topics under the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.
This included farmers' income at a sustainable level, capable of supporting operating costs and daily life expenses;
The latest development on tourist arrival, and expanding the tourism sector beyond Brunei Muara District;
Systematic agricultural waste material management to reduce the breeding of flies at residential areas;
Measures to encourage youth entrepreneur's involvement in modern farming to improve potential and skills;
Enhance measures to allocate human resources across various areas of expertise and skills;
Cooperation with the Ministry of Education on integrating elements of local tourism into co-curricular activities;
Assistance for young farmers, comprising provision of land and the use of modern agricultural technologies;
And increase rice seed supply by adding more seed suppliers and conduct surprise inspections.
